Safer Home Plan - Inclusions and Exclusions

Safer Home Plans were designed to provide a simple, cost-effective solution for owners and property managers to address the new safety requirements imposed by changes to the Victorian Residential Tenancies Act.

Unlike a once-off safety check with no additional benefits that local tradespeople/companies commonly provide, our Safer Home plans are subscription services, providing enduring protection for your properties all year round. See the terms of service for detailed information.

For example, on average we replace approximately $200 retail value worth of parts during a standard set of Safer Home services at no charge to the owners! No other provider offers these kinds of generous inclusions.

FAQ

What's included in a call-out?

Callout means travel to a property to carry out additional work and includes the first 15 minutes of labour. Callouts are typically triggered by urgent requests and/or warranty claims.

Please note the following outcomes based on the nature of the problem:

  • Immediate Resolution: For safety concerns, our priority is to promptly secure the property. In some cases, this may involve actions such as disconnecting power or gas to appliances or the entire property to mitigate risks.

  • Basic Fixes: Certain straightforward issues, such as thermocouple replacement, GPO replacement, safety switch/circuit breaker replacement, or basic PTR line extension, may be resolved within the allocated time frame. However, please understand that this cannot be guaranteed for all scenarios.

  • Complex Issues: If the problem persists beyond the initial 15 minutes or is of a highly complex nature, our technicians may require additional time to assess the situation thoroughly. In such cases:

    • We will ensure the property is made safe if it poses any immediate hazards.
    • Alternatively, we will use the remaining time to gather essential information to provide you with an accurate quotation for the resolution of the issue.

Please be assured that our primary goal is to address your concerns efficiently and effectively. Should the need arise for further investigation or repairs beyond the initial callout, we will communicate transparently and provide you with a detailed plan of action.
